Scouring the World for Filipinos with Experience

Welcome Back Friends in the Brain Gain Network

After founding the Brain Gain Network in 1992 with Dr. Marc Loinaz and after the development of internet enabled social and business networks, many will ask, "Why are we still doing the Brain Gain Network after all these years?"

Any project or "business" plan starts with a market need and in the case of the revived Brain Gain Network, our team has noted that there is still a huge need to locate and empower the valuable collective experience of the Globally scattered Filipino professional community. Over the many decades of immigration of millions Filipinos to foreign lands to seek better training and opportunities, we have seen the growth of a vast pool of human resources with a wealth of professional experience. Collective wisdom that surely could benefit the socio-economic development of the Philippines.

The above facts are noted by Philippine-based leaders yet they have not made an inventory of the above human resources, nor have they located most of them. And for the few that have been found, Philippine based professionals have limited ways of interacting with the foreign based professionals.

And yet, life goes on in the Philippines. With the help of many good people (sometimes with foreign help) there are many worthwhile projects and initiatives that are begun in the Philippines that could benefit from the joint cooperation of the above parties. This cooperation has previously been limited by the distance, time zone differences, and difficulties in collaboration.

The new and improved Brain Gain Network is of course the name we give to the global network of professionals who share the common purpose of helping improve the Philippines. The website BGN.org (www.BGN.org) is a tool that will enable the above activity to happen.

And in the end, one other reason for continuing this effort is that it is a whole lot of fun and very satisfying!

We look forward to interacting with you all from the Philippine Brain Gain Network on our new site and hopefully we will be able to meet many of you in person and/or read about your BGN-assisted projects' success in the news.

Mabuhay!
-The BGN Development Team (Paco, Nicole, Mira, Shem, Melo, Randell, Ian Ernie, and Clorets)

P.S. Thanks also to Dae, JJ, Rhea, Ray, Marc and others who also helped out at one point or another.
